The depressed south of Peru struggled to recover from the violent earthquake that killed more than 500 people in 2007 . The area is home of Pisco (world famous grape liqueur) and hosts some of the famous Natzca lines. Pisco is also the gateway to the Islands of Ballestas, also known as the "poor man's Galapagos' due to the abundant wildlife. Tourism and the export of high grade Pisco are the only sources of income in the area. Islas Ballesta, Peru 2010
